Sexyy is absolutely in the right spot. there's nothing that goes off in the club right now more than her tracks, especially for the women. Cardi is in the right spot, the list is about this year specifically not overall. she's been relatively quiet this year and most of the stuff she has done hasn't been hitting like her best shit did. Nicki is for sure not number one, and I agree that politics/not wanting to piss the barbs off probably played into it. FTCU was a big hit sure but outside of her core fans/barbs people aren't checking for her like they used to, plus you gotta add in that horrible diss track. this is probably the worst year for Nicki since she's been out

Theres a systematic approach to killing hip hop period as Ken alluded to. All the relevant artists that are spitting, are older. We always had a decent group of individuals in their early 20s helping further the craft of mceeing. I used to be able to name at least 5 individuals under 25 as the next group of rappers to look for, easy.

Doja cat really doing it right now imo out of all those artists.. Yes shes mainstream. But she was really rapping on her last record like Feefo mentioned! She made it even more so adding 7 more tracks to the album as a deluxe and decided it was going to be more rapping. And if you hear the beats, theyre all boom bap. It's clear she loves hip hop and is showing a certain respect to it by putting in a great effort into making quality hip hop tracks. She can sing the fk out of songs too compared to anyone on that list. Already know she can dance. Her coachella show and current tour is/was crazzy. She #1 in my book. Nicki right after her.

As a huge fan I genuinely don't think for Ken, that Em can do anything he is going to like, and I think it's wild other artists like Cube or Scarface dont get the same energy with ruining legacy when they dropped a slew of forgettable to bad albums the last 20 years after their prime. The crew never even touched on his features in recent years he kills like Bang by Griselda, Parables (Remix), Realest by EZ Mills, etc. I think the question for Ken, and we've interacted before, is there anything Em could make you would acknowledge is good? Even off his report card Ken clearly is not a fan even with his acclaimed projects and bias asidee I for the record dig the track and enjoy the throwback sound and this coming from someone who Em has fallen from my favorite rapper in my growth as a fan of the genre, hes's still top 10 for me, but behind Kenny, Pac, Doom, and Nas, amd besides Cube, Biggie, Jay, Meth, and Rae/GhostFace.

I think that Ironman is a start of a strong album run, while Liquid Swordz stands out more by itself. It also fits better put next to the full Wu-Tang albums, imo. Edit: Turns out it did work for Kendrick lol

Doja Cat is substantially more popular than every other rapper on this list except Nicki. And she’s still doing better numbers than Nicki. Paint The Town Red was the first rap record to reach no. 1 on Billboard last year. And it came out in September IIRC. Sexxy Red is probably hotter than Meg at this point too.
